Misc Design

The following work was created by me prior to 2002. Some of it is from my time at Olive Design, some of it is my work from the San Francisco Bay Area.

David Siegel

David Siegel is a world-renowned author, speaker, type designer and now, chocolate aficionado.

In the mid 90’s, David owned a web design firm called Verso. He was looking for a book designer who was familiar with the cutting-edge techniques being used at the time for web design. At that point, I had never worked on the web. I had never worked in San Francisco. I had never designed books. Still, I got the job.

These are two of the three books that I worked on with David. I also designed the supporting websites. The websites are no longer around, but David and I still keep in touch.

Richland Communities

Richland is a diversified real estate investment company with vast expertise in land acquisition, entitlement and community design. Richland has created a wide array of successful developments. This was one of many promotional pieces created for them while I was employed at Robert Anthony Advertising in California.

MISC WEB Design

Sundance
Normally I don’t. That is what I say when asked to do spec work. Normally the answer is no. This was one of the rare times at Olive Design when we said yes.

The spec work was for Robert Redford’s Sundance Catalog Company. It was my first break in a while from dot com companies, and I was very pleased with the results.

Forgent and Strategic Partnerships Inc.
Bear in mind that this design work is over 15 years old. Still, I include it here because at the time it was a little unconventional for the web, and I think, visually compelling. This was the day when we designed for low res, 256 colors. Limits challenged us to be more creative.
